of the Chinese Chemical Society

The Chinese Chemical Society (CCS) announced the list of Young Chemist Award winners at Jan. 20th, 2009. Our senior group member, Dr. Shuxun Cui is honored to be one of them. Dr. Cui got his PhD degree in 2004 under the supervision of Prof. Xi Zhang, and then joined into the group of Prof. H. E. Gaub in Technical University of Munich, Germany, starting his two-year postdoc research. He came back to China and became an associate professor in Sichuan University in 2006. Now he is a full professor of College of Mechanical Technology in Southwest Jiaotong University, China. His main research interest is focused on the adsorption of macromolecules on the liquid/solid interface, as well as mechanical properties of biomacromolecules using

The Young Chemist Award of the Chinese Chemical Society was founded in 1983, which is annually awarded to less than 10 outstanding young chemists younger than 35 years old. Until now, there have been 218 Chinese scientists won this prize. In the past, Prof. Xi Zhang and Prof. Junqi Sun (our senior group member) have been awarded the same prize in 1997 and 2007, respectively.
