| Oct. 21st 2013, Prof. Jean-Marie Lehn, Nobel Prize winner in1987, from University of Strasbourg, France, visited Department of Chemistry and gave two lectures about “Perspectives in Chemistry: From Molecular to Supramolecular Chemistry towards Adaptive Chemistry” at lectur hall 301 of Chemistry Building and Tsinghua School, respectively. Many students went to the lectures for the reputation and fantastic speech style of Prof. Lehn. Audience were surrounded by the piano music from Prof. Lehn after the whole speech. Up rase the integration of science and art gradually.
Jean-Marie Lehn was regarded as “Father” of Supramolecular Chemistry. He received the Nobel Prize in Chemsitry together with Donald Cram and Charles Pedersen in 1987 for his synthesis of cryptands. |
