Jun. 28th 2017, the “Xi Group” team attended Tsinghua Graduation Running, as a sincere wish for the three PhD graduates, Qiao Song, Bin Yuan and Yuetong Kang. |

Jun. 11th 2017, a friendly basketball match with the research group of Prof. Yapei Wang, Renmin University of China, was held in Tsinghua University. All the members in two groups enjoyed the exciting game. |

From October, 2014 to April, 2015, EI Mard Hicham from University of Mainz, Germany, worked in our group as an exchange student. He worked together with Shaobo Ji on the dynamic covalent chemistry of diselenide bonds. Apr. 3rd 2015, a farewell party was held at 318 office. All the group members gave their souvenirs and best wishes to Hicham. |

In Oct. 2014, Wei Cao, Zehuan Huang and Shaobo Ji received National Scholarship (2014). All the group members had a dinner party to celebrate for them. We wish Xi Groupers could create more outstanding research in the future days. |

In Aug. 2014, Kai Liu received the First Prize of Doctoral Dissertations in Tsinghua (2014) for his admirable doctoral dissertation titled “The construction and function of the supra-amphiphiles with novel topologies”. |

In Jun. 2014, Dr. Huaping Xu Received China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists (2014) for his breakthroughs on selenium-containing polymers. |

In Jun. 2014, Kai Liu received Young Scholar of Distinction in Tsinghua (2014). Young Scholar of Distinction is rendered for top 10 postgraduates in Tsinghua University and their outstanding research every year, including only 2 students in Natural Science this year. |

Jun. 4th – 7th 2014, Wei Cao attended the 6th International Symposium on Polymer Chemistry held in Shanghai, China, and received Best Poster Award during the conference. |

Apr. 1st 2014, Chao Wang received the National 100 Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award (2013) for his outstanding doctoral dissertation titled “The controllable self-assembly and disassembly of supra-amphiphiles”. |

Oct. 13rd – 14th, 2012, Xi's group went to Chateau ChangYu AFIP Global for autumn excursion. During the excursion, every group member learned the history and culture of wine. |

In October, 2012, Antonia Felicitas Brömmel and Owen Alexander Bell from Bristol University , UK, worked in our group as exchange students. They worked together with Guangtong Wang and Kai Liu on oligoaniline based supra-amphiphiles. |

July 3rd – 4th, 2011, Xi ' s group went to Agrilandia Italian Farm for summer excursion. During the excursion, everyone enjoyed the fruit – picking and football game very much. |

During June – Sep. 2011, Hans Kelgtermans from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, worked with us as an exchange PhD student. He worked together with Yiliu Liu on the synthesis and self-assembly of porphyrin derivatives. |

During May – Aug. 2011, Eric Hill and Taylor Canady from University of New Mexico, worked in our group as exchange students. Eric worked together with Peng Han on visible light responsive assemblies, while Taylor worked with Kai Liu on pH responsive superamphiphiles. |

May 8th, 2010, the exchanged PhD student Peter from University of Louvain, Belgium, gave all of the group members an interesting lecture about chocolate. He helped everyone to get a further understanding to the chocolates from the viewpoint of the history of chocolate, the chemistry problem referred to chocolate and so on. |
|
April 23rd 2010, Ning Ma and Xiaoxin Chen accomplished their defences of postdoctoral reports successfully. |
|
From Jan. 2010, the group started “monthly best picture” to award the research data and pictures of high quality. The “monthly best picture” was nominated by each student from their results and voted by all the group members every month. |
|
During Feb.-March, 2010, Ashok Zachariah Samuel from Indian Institute of Science, worked with us as an exchange PhD student. He came to study the technique of single-molecule force spectroscopy (SMFS). |

During Jan.-March, 2010, Alberto Gomez-Casado from University of Twente, the Netherlands, worked with us as an exchange PhD student. |

From May 22nd to 24th, 2009, all the group members went to Badaling for spring excursion. During the excursion, we visited the Longqing Xia and had a barbeque party at Prof. Xi’s home. |

April 29th, 2009, Jan Gauczinski, an exchange PhD student from University of Münster arrived at Tsinghua. He is going to stay in Tsinghua for work on the surface molecular imprinting in the Layer-by-layer films, together with Zhihua Liu. |

From Sept. 30th 2008 to Jan. 4th 2009, Ngo Huynh Thien, a PhD student of KU Leuven, Belgium, joined our group as an exchange PhD student for about 4 months. |

From Dec. 9st to Dec. 13th 2008, Chao Wang, one of our group member, spent a week in Okazaki, Japan, to take part in the Asian Winter School. |

From Dec. 1st to Dec. 11th 2008, two of our group members, Pengbo Wan and Guanglu Wu went to the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, Anhui province, to join a workshop about “Theory and Technology in Polymer Research”. |

Oct.11th 2008, Liu Fang, one of our group members, went to University of Utah, USA as an exchange student supported by NSFC. He will join the group of Prof. David Grainger and work on functional modification of proteins. |
|
Sept. 22nd 2008, Christian Moers, who is an exchange student from Mainz, Germany, finished his6-months visiting in Tsinghua and went back to Germany. He worked with Wang Yapei on some photo-responsive self-assembly multilayer films. We hope Christian can have another chance to visit Beijing. |
